Rizal Library Basketball League 2010 Season Champion - Team Lopez

A good defense and a lot of teamwork dictates the game between the battle of Team Lopez and Team Mallillin for the championship in 2010 season of Rizal Library basketball League. The offensive pattern of Jan Michael Villarosa of Team Mallillin was obstructed by the good switching and alternate defense by Rabe, Concepcion, Velasco and Telan pushing him to force is shots and made him dish out a dismal 2 assists in this game from his 11.75 average after the knock-out game. The shaded area was controlled by Buensuceso, Francisco and Perillo to trim down Team Mallillin’s “Tower of Power” Marlon Cleofas to a 1 out of 11 in the field.

The defending champion Team Lopez once again rises to the occasion. Beating Team David on an excellent teamwork and a solid defense assures them the slot in the finals. Manny “Mr Defense” Concepcion playing his first game this season due to injury, contributed in the defense by controlling Team David’s Domdom “the hit-man” to make a career low of 10 points after garnering a 26.0 points per game average in the first round of this season. A surprise offense from Johnny “the Banker” Villanueva did a lot of damage to the morale of Team David by contributing 14 points. Team Lopez’s mainstays Bhal “the Pogi” Rabe, Ipe “The Slasher” Velasco and Gabby “The Gatsby” Garbo contributed a lot in the teams victory by showing their dedication and their teammanship in the game. The Game ended with a 27 points margin with Team Lopez’s’96 and Team David’s 69 points.

The game between Team Mallillin and Team Suchan ended as expected. The classy Michael Villarosa concluded the game with his triple double of 35 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists plus 4 steals and 3 blocks to kick out Team Suchan from the finals.

The game for the championship between Team Lopez and Team Mallillin will be on June 4, 2010 at the Ateneo de Manila University College Covered court after the 3 points, free throws and mid-court shootout.

After the grueling but exciting warm-up round of the Rizal Library Basketball League, the match up for the knock-out round will be between Team Mallillin against Team Suchan and Team Lopez against Team David. The games will start at 5:15 pm (first game) and 7:00pm (2nd game) on June 2, 2010 at the Ateneo de Manila University Covered Court. The result of these games will determine the match-up for the finals of the fun and very exciting 2010 season of the Rizal Library Baskletball League. The finals will be held on June 4, 2010 at the same venue.
